Some Sweet Snack Ideas for the 14th

What’s a better way to celebrate this holiday season than by making your own Valentine’s Day snacks? Not only will you save money, but you will have a great time making them. You can even bring these treats to school and share them with your friends!

Snack 1: Heart beets!

Step 1- Cut beets into circular slices. Then, cut a heart out of the circles. Chop potatoes.

Step 2- Put potatoes into boiling water. Above the water, add beets on top to steam them.

Step 3- Carry the potatoes to separate bowl and mash them, adding milk, butter, and salt. Add a slice of beet to give it a pink color.

Step 4- Take a heart beet and spread mashed potatoes on top. Add a second beet on top!

Not only are these super healthy, they’re also so cute!

Snack 2: Chocolate covered ladybug strawberries!

Step 1- Take a strawberry and slice in half. Melt chocolate and put into piper.

Step 2- Use chocolate to draw a ladybug on the strawberry.

Step 3- Decorate with edible eye stickers.

Snack 3: Sweet, Strawberry Milkshake!

Step 1- Add 2 cups of strawberries, 1.5 cups of milk, and 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam into a blender.

Step 2- Blend until the texture is thick and creamy.

Step 3- Pour into tall glass and serve with decorational strawberries.

Snack 4: Valentine’s Bark!

Step 1- Preheat oven to 150 degrees. Spread out chocolate morsels on a parchment paper-lined pan. Wait for chocolate to start melting.

Step 2- Take out of oven and spread chocolate with a spatula. Sprinkle with cinnamon hearts.

Step 3- Wait for it to cool and then break it apart into pieces! Yum!

These treats are simple to make and will brighten up your Valentine’s Day!
