Chorus Sings Their Way to Gold in Atlanta

Jordan Barish and Spencer Cowley

Green Hope’s Voices of Hope and Sorelle Sound competed three weekends ago in Atlanta, Georgia at the Southern Star Music Festival. Both Green Hope choirs received “Gold” standards – the highest attainable – and Voices of Hope was crowned Choral Sweepstakes Winner of High School Chorus Music and the Grand Champion of Choral Music. The competition featured choirs from Elementary Schools to High Schools and each choir was judged by three judicators as they sang their music.

Senior, Ingrid Santiago was ecstatic to go out with a high note (pun intended), saying that “As a senior who’s been in Voices of Hope for three years it was nice to be able to go out with a really good win.”

Both Ingrid and Junior Jack Glascock feel incredibly blessed to be apart of the Green Hope chorus. Ingrid added, “Chorus means a lot to me. It’s been a big part of my life even with all the different teachers coming in and out, I’ve managed to stick around because I love it so much.” Jack agreed, saying, “It means a place where i can have fun and make music. We have fun here.”

All of the Green Hope Choirs will be singing at their spring concert on April 24th, 2018. Come out and support them!
