The Green Hope men’s soccer team topped Panther Creek on Wednesday, October 24th by a score of 1-0. The win places the Falcons atop the Tri-6 and secures the number one seed in the state playoffs.

Dylan Enseling put away the only goal of the game midway through the first half to spoil Panther Creeks’ senior night. “Sam Durand whipped it and then I buried it,” said Senior Dylan Enseling. “I feel ecstatic and proud of the soccer family on our conference title”. With this goal, Enseling adds to his already impressive goal total this season. Dylan has now scored 11 this year and leads the team.

The Falcons are 8-1 in the conference now, with Panther Creek close behind at 8-2. Green Hope plays one more conference game at Cary High on Monday the 29th, and then they turn their attention to the state playoffs. Junior Sam Durand says “The Cary game will be tough but we should be able to catch a W next week.” The first matchup between these two teams was won by the Falcons 3-1.

The team is excited for the playoffs to get started. Durand thinks Gibbons will be the biggest competition on their path to the state title. The Falcons played the Crusaders already this year in the Wake County Cup and Green Hope prevailed 2-1.

Be sure to come out and support your Falcons at Cary High on Monday!
