Christmastime is upon us, and with it, the annual push by teenagers to enjoy the christmas activities. Living in the seemingly boring Cary, coupled with teenagers short on cash, can make enjoying festivities a daunting task. However, if you look as hard as you used to look into the night sky for Santa, you can find that Cary does have some Christmas gems for us to enjoy.

Watch Some Christmas Classics at the Cary Theatre

In Downtown in December, there is always a pretty scene. Along with the beautiful lights and decorations, the Cary Theatre should be staple for Cary residents looking to have a fun Christmas. Every year, the theatre plays classic holiday movies such as Love Actually, It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, Miracle on 34th Street, and more. After the show, perhaps a nice walk through Downtown to gaze at the lights and all the boutiques outfitted for the holidays.

Hit the Ice in Cary

Bored, in the festive mood, but also want to get a workout in? Go ice skating! Even if you fall countless times and look like a newborn deer, it will prove to be a good time. With the right people and the right festive music, ice skating can be a new holiday tradition. Try the Polar Ice House or the pop-up ice skating rink at Parkside Commons.

Go Christmas Shopping

One positive about Cary is the plethora of shopping centers around. Since teens are of the age of the annual expectation to get their family members and friends gifts, necessary Christmas shopping can be turned fun. Go to Park West Village, get some Starbucks, and shop around at Target, TJ Maxx, or Charming Charlies. With the Christmas decorations, it will sure to put you in the Christmas mood. Try Southpoint Mall or Crabtree Valley Mall to really knock the Christmas shopping out.
