Green Hope had a very productive week through all of their athletic teams last week. Many individuals and teams are now stepping up when the teams need it most. Let us recap how every Falcon performed.

Cheerleading: The team went to Apex Friendship High School to compete in the NCCCA State Championship. Green Hope became back-to-back STATE CHAMPIONS as they were on top of the Small Team Division. This performance has made it the 5th state championship for Green Hope this school year.

Men’s Basketball: The team went 1-1 last week, with a huge upset versus Riverside last Friday. The Falcons were able to defeat the Tri-6 leaders by a score of 60-54. Green Hope was propelled by clutch points from Ben Maske who scored 20. The next competition is tomorrow versus Jordan.

Swimming: Both the Men’s and Women’s teams claimed the Central Region championship on Saturday in Greensboro. Green Hope has 21 swimmers qualified to participate in the State Championship meet this Thursday at the Triangle Aquatic Center.

Wrestling: Green Hope fell to South View in the first round of the Dual Team playoffs by a score of 42-36. This concludes the dual team season, but now the focus is on the individual playoffs which will be held this week at Cardinal GIbbons.

Women’s Basketball: The team lost their first competition of the week in a close competition with Athens Drive. Green Hope was able to bounce back and take down Riverside last Friday. The next competition is tomorrow at home versus Jordan.

Indoor Track & Field: The track & field team traveled to UNC – Chapel Hill to compete in the Eastern HS Challenge. This was the last chance for any individuals to qualify for the state championship meet. Senior Reed Blackman ran a personal record in the 1600m, qualifying for states. The next competition for the team is this Friday in the NCHSAA State Championship at JDL Fast Track.
