GH Weekly Wrap-Up 5/5-5/11

Spring sports are all in playoffs currently. The sports year for Green Hope is winding down as we keep pushing for another Wells Fargo Cup trophy. Let us recap how all of our teams performed in a win-or-go-home scenario.

Men’s Tennis: The Ramesh siblings (Vivek and Vineet) won the Duos State Championship at Millbrook Tennis Center on May 11th. This is the first time in school histroy a Men’s Duo partnership has won a state title. The team has continued to the third round and face off against Panther Creek today at Cary Tennis Park.

Softball: The Falcons softball team had their first home playoff game in school history against Ashley and they beat the Screaming Eagles 10-8. In the next round, the Falcons lost to South view 3-6 and concluded a historic season.

Baseball: Green Hope Baseball took the mound against South Central in the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs. The Falcons cruised past South Central, winning the game by a score of 4-1. Liam Norris struck out 16 batters in only 6 innings. The team traveled to Heritage in the second round a fell to the Huskies. Green Hope Baseball has now concluded their season.

Women’s Soccer: The Lady Falcons soccer team had a first round bye in their NCHSAA playoffs. They faced off against Millbrook and the game went back and forth for the whole 80 minutes. Millbrook was able to score in the last few minutes to take the win by a score of 3-2.
