The Falcons had a very successful week in Athletics last week winning every single competition they participated in. This included another Fight for 55 point making the total score 3-1 in favor of Green Hope. Let us recap our great athletics achievements from last week, and look at the upcoming schedule as well.

Women’s Tennis: The tennis team went 3-0 last week defeating Cary, Panther Creek, and Athens Drive. In 3 matches the Falcons have only dropped 2 sets out of 25. The Falcons continue to have a perfect record this year,13-0, going into their final matches of the season before the playoffs. This week the Falcons will play Hillside on Tuesday and Jordan on Wednesday.

Men’s Soccer: The soccer team went 2-0 last week. The team defeated Athens Drive 5-1, and Green Level 3-0. These wins improve their conference record to 2-2 and give the team much needed momentum for the rest of the season. Team captain Sam Cooper stated, “We have a good chance of winning out in conference and making a deep run in the playoffs if we continue to play at our current level.” This week the Falcons will face both Hillside and Riverside at home.

Volleyball: The volleyball team defeated both Riverside (3-0) and Jordan (3-1) last week. The Falcons are now 7-0 in conference. They begin the second round of conference play this week with matchups against Cary and PC. This time the Falcons will travel to PC for the Fight for 55 matchup. The rivalry match will be played Thursday at 6:00.

Football: The football team defeated Cary with a score of 21-18 last Friday. The Falcons defense held strong in a close game forcing 4 turnovers (2 interceptions and 2 fumbles). The Falcons top offensive performers were quarterback Evan Ashworth, running back Michael Odette, and receiver Tavaras Vann. This big win improves the Falcons record to 4-1 and they are now 1-0 in the conference. This week the Falcons will play in one of their biggest matchups of the season against rival PC (3-3). The game will be held at Green Hope on Friday at 7:30, and the theme is pink out.
