As of late, artists in the music industry have begun to delay album release dates more and more. From Kanye West’s Yandhi to Playboi Carti’s Whole Lotta Red, artists have announced new projects but have yet to follow through with them. Arguably the biggest mystery of these projects is Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake. Fans have long awaited the follow-up to Uzi’s 2017 LUV Is Rage 2 album, which went platinum back in February of 2018. The Philadelphia rapper announced the project on Twitter over two years ago. Despite a series of lawsuits over copyright issues of the potential album cover and the release of a new single, “New Patek,” there has been no confirmed release date for the LP. Fans speculated that the album was delayed due to issues with Uzi’s record label, Generation Now. Those speculations came to an end after DJ Drama, the co-head of Generation Now, stated that “Uzi should put out EA [Eternal Atake] tomorrow or any day he wants,” during a series of back and forth tweets with Uzi that have now been deleted. Despite Uzi claiming that the album has been finished and announcing release dates multiple times, there has been no drop. During a visit to his hometown of Philadelphia back in October, Uzi was asked, “When can we see the album?” After a long pause, he responded “Um, I don’t even know,” leaving fans disappointed and questioning whether or not the project will ever be released. Although at this point it seems like the album will never drop, fans can only stay hopeful as 2019 comes to a close.
