Musicals are common throughout popular culture like Hamilton and The Phantom of the Opera. However, musicals come in different categories and as the holidays inch closer, the music will as well. Holiday musicals can be enjoyed with family and friends through December. Listening to these musicals can heighten the happiness of the holidays and lessen the stresses of everyday life.

These holiday musicals are sure to bring everyone together.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The Grinch has been a popular Dr. Seuss book throughout the years and now it has been turned into a musical that brings everyone holiday villain to the stage. This musical shows how the Grinch realizes that Christmas isn’t just about presents and food, it’s also about spending time with friends and family.

A Christmas Carol

This musical is based on Charles Dickens’ 1843 classic. The story is about a lonely man who just wishes for money this Christmas. But, when ghostly messengers tell him about the past, present and future, he realizes that Christmas is meant to enjoy with others and have fun.

The Nutcracker

This musical is a well-known classic and is the musical most people remember when thinking about the holidays. The story is about a young girl who gets a nutcracker for Christmas but then her jealous brother breaks. Eventually the nutcracker is fixed and turns into a prince. The girl and the prince goes on different adventures throughout the musical.

Holiday Inn

This musical is about a man named Jim who settles down in a farmhouse in Connecticut away from show business. Eventually he meets a spirited schoolteacher named Linda and they turn the farmhouse into a holiday inn. But then Ted (Jim’s best friend) tries to lure Linda away to another job, Jim has to find a way to keep her at the inn.

Miracle on 34th Street

This musical is based off of 1947 Christmas film and the story is about how Santa Claus does exist.
