The Green Hope Women’s softball team is starting the new season under returning coach Logan Hill. The girls are looking to improve on their 13-8 record from last year and hope to have even better performances from juniors Cameron Cook, Shae Condon, and Senior Natsumi Koyama. Sophomore Katelyn Ellard will be standing on the mound this season.
The ladies’ first game was a blowout win against Durham Jordan on March 9th. Ellard ended the game with a no-hitter. After a strong start, Junior Cameron Cook says she looks forward to the rest of the season, exclaiming, “This season should be a good one once we get settled in after all of the snow days. There are a lot of good players returning, and I’m definitely looking forward to competing against Apex after they beat us last year. I’m hoping we can make it to the playoffs too. It’s going to be a great season!” The falcons fell to Cardinal Gibbons 2-0 on March 10th in their second game.
