The Green Hope women’s lacrosse team won their first state playoff game on Wednesday night.  The Falcons beat JH Rose 18-11 to advance into the second round.  The girls started slow out of the gate, but were able to come back and make a final push to knock out the Rampants.  Green Hope was trailing 5-2 at one point in the first half, but were able to respond by going on a 6-1 run to take the lead.  JH Rose was able to tie the game, but Junior Delaney Rowe scored back to back goals just before half to put Green Hope up for good.

JH Rose began the second half with a comeback in mind, but Green Hope’s defense delivered the final blow to the Rampants comeback chances.  Junior star Alicia Brunetti finished the game with seven goals and four assists.  Brunetti also played a huge factor on the draws.  Sophomore Cameron Peel also scored multiple goals for the Falcons.

The Falcons’ win matches them up with fourth-seeded Hoggard on Friday.  The game will be a revenge game for the Falcons as Hoggard knocked them out of the playoffs the past two seasons.  Make the trip to Wilmington tonight to help the Falcons get revenge on Hoggard!
